Dear Friends,
I apologize for being a bit tardy with the reading list this week. It's hard to get back on schedule following a week of vacation. In any event, our reading for this week take us through the remaining chapters of the Book of Judges which will be highlighted by the story of Samson. As we conclude the Book of Judges, we will begin reading the Gospel of John which is by far the most theological of the gospel accounts. The "Prologue" as the first chapter of John is called offers a wonderful interpretation of the incarnation of God in Christ and chapter three introduces us to Nicodemus as well as those most memorable words of John 3:16, which are often referred to as "the gospel within the gospel." Our reading of the Psalms will treat us to some uplifting Psalms of praise and we will continue our study of wisdom sayings in the Book of Proverbs.
May God continue to speak to us through the wonder of his Holy Word!
Blessings,
Tom Lovell
