April 8, 2013

Dear Friends,

As we continue our journey through the scriptures, our readings for this week our Old Testament readings will chronicle a major transition point in the life of God's people as they cross the Jordan River and enter the land of Promise.  The Book of Joshua is the story of the conquest of the land of Canaan as Joshua succeeds Moses as the leader of God's people.  In the Gospel of Luke, we will continue reading the narrative of Jesus' ministry as he heals many people and teaches in parables.  Included in our reading for this week are those wonderful "Parables of the Lost" in chapter 15.  Psalm 78 will serve as an excellent review of God's mighty deeds on behalf of his chosen people as other Psalms ask for God's protection and praise God for his deliverance.  In Proverbs 13 we continue to be reminded of the wisdom of living according to God's design.

May God continue to bless as us we move forward in our journey together.

Grace & Peace,

Tom Lovell
