Dear Friends,

 

            This week, as we move forward in our journey through the scriptures we will conclude the Book of Ruth, which chronicles for us the Ruth's faithfulness and loyalty to Naomi as well as makes the genealogical link from Boaz to Jesse, who was the father of David.  As we begin our journey through the Book of I Samuel, we will read of the ministry of Samuel as well as the beginning of Israel's monarchy and the reign of Saul.  In John's gospel, we will read of several miracles (signs as John calls them) of Jesus as well as the first of several "I am" sayings which John uses to help us understand who Jesus is.  Our reading from the Psalms will include Psalms of praise and thanksgiving, and in Proverbs, wisdom continues to be highlighted as a virtue.

 

            May God continue to bless us and inspire us as we move forward in our journey.
