Dear Friends,
As we conclude the assigned readings for this week, we will be at the half-way point in our journey through the scriptures. In our reading from II Kings, we will read of the ministry of the prophet, Elisha, and his miracles, as well as the rapid succession of dysfunctional kings of Israel, which ultimately led to the northern kingdom of God's people being overtaken by the Assyrians and taken into exile. In our reading from Acts, the Second Missionary Journey of the Apostle Paul will take center stage as he travelled from Jerusalem, heading northward to Syria, then northwest to Asia Minor, south to Corinth, and then back to Jerusalem. Our reading from the Psalm will move us into the "Hallell Psalms," which are dynamic songs of praise which begin with the work, "Hallelujah," which our English versions translate as "Praise the Lord." In Proverbs, we continue to be enlightened by the common sense wisdom contained therein.
May God continue to speak to us as we read his Word together.
Grace & Peace,
Tom Lovell
