July 15

Dear Friends,

This week we move forward in our journey through the scriptures as we transition from I Chronicles to II Chronicles in the Old Testament and begin reading Paul's Letter to the Romans.  In I Chronicles we will read of the final years of the reign of King David and the transfer of power to his son, Solomon.  In addition to his wisdom, Solomon is also known for the glory of the Temple he had built to God's glory.  Paul's Letter to the Romans is a letter written to an established church and thus contains a wonderful primer of the essential elements of Paul's theology.  We Presbyterians have a close affinity to Romans as much of our theology is found in this letter of Paul.

May God continue to bless us as we read the scriptures together.

Grace & Peace,

Tom Lovell
