Dear Friends,

As we continue our journey through the scriptures this week, our reading from Ezekiel will present us with a the prophet's very detailed vision of the restoration of the Temple. While there is no evidence a Temple was ever built according to this design, the promise of a restored Temple was an incredible sign of hope for God's people who had long been exiled in a foreign land, while their holy city and place of worship lay in ruins. In our New Testament reading, we will read the Epistle of James which focuses upon the need to live out our faith in tangible ways, to be "doers of the word and not hearers only." I Peter is a pastoral letter to five churches in the provinces of Asia Minor. In chapter two, we will find that wonderful passage which reminds us of God's special claim upon us. And, of course, our reading from Proverbs continues to bless us with the wisdom of God.

May God continue to inspire us as we read his Word together.

Grace & Peace,

Tom Lovell
