Dear Friends,
This week, our journey through the scriptures continues to move through the Minor Prophets. As we conclude our reading of Micah, we will read two familiar passages, the first in chapter five as the prophet proclaims that God's chosen will come from Bethlehem, and the second in chapter six where the requirements for a faithful life in accord with God's desires are listed as "to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God." The following prophets, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah are words to the people of God prior to their exile with Haggai and Zechariah being post-exilic. In Revelation we move into the heart of this apocalyptic vision of John as we read of the opening of the seventh seal, the six trumpets, and the vision of the two beasts. As I noted last week, it may be helpful to have a good commentary to assist you as you read this interesting but oft-confusing book.
May God continue to bless us as we near the end of this scriptural journey.
Grace & Peace,
Tom Lovell
