December 9, 2013

Dear Friends,

This week our journey through the scriptures moves us through several of the "Minor Prophets." The category of "Minor Prophets" is not a reflection on the importance of their prophecies, but rather due to their relatively short length. This week, we will read of Joel's encouragement to "rend our hearts and not our garments," be urged to "let just roll down like the river and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream." We will also read of Jonah's attempt to ignore God's call and the first half of Micah's prophecy. In our New Testament reading, we will begin the Book of Revelation as we read the Letters to the Seven Churches and the opening of the seals. It may be helpful to consult a good commentary or study Bible to assist you as you read this most fascinating, but oft confusing book.

May God continue to bless us as we continue our journey through the scriptures.

Grace & Peace,

 Tom Lovell
